The NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee has awarded Wichita one of 4 regional-round hosting sites for the 2022 championships. Wichita's INTRUST Bank Arena will serve as one of the sites along with Bridgeport, Connecticut; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Spokane, Washington.
INTRUST Bank Arena will be hosting the regional championship for the first time. Previously they hosted Women's first- and second-round play in 2011. They hosted the NCAA Men's Tournament first- and second-round in 2018 and have been chosen to do so again in 2021.
