Two Former Jayhawks Finish NBA Summer League

Mykhailiuk & Newman made it to title game with the Lakers

The NBA Summer League concluded in Las Vegas on Tuesday night with its tournament championship game, as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers.

Starting at forward for the Lakers was former KU star Svi Mykhailiuk (pictured); the former Kansas Jayhawk had 10 points and three rebounds. Coming off the bench for the Lakers was another former KU player, Malik Newman, with four points and three rebounds.

Mykhailiuk averaged 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists per game for the Lakers during the Summer League tournament; Newman averaged three points and one rebound per game. Both former KU players are looking to land a roster spot with the Lakers for the coming season.
