Shockers making their marks in the minor leagues

Four former Wichita State baseball players were in action Wednesday for minor leauge baseball:

*Former WSU outfielder Dayton Dugas is in single-A ball with the Detroit Tigers. Dugas went 2-for-4 at the plate, including a grand slam home run, a double, five RBI, and a pair of runs scored. Dugas is batting .349 for the West Michigan Whitecaps this season; the grand slam was his first home run of the season.

*Former Shocker catcher Gunnar Troutwine is in single-A with the Chicago White Sox. Troutwine was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles on Wednesday.

*Former Wichita State infielder Trey Vickers is in single-A for the Washington Nationals. Vickers was 1-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBI.

*Former WSU infielder Luke Ritter, drafted last month in the 7th round, is in single-A with the New York Mets. Ritter was on base four times, was 2-for-3 with a double, a run driven in, and got his first professional stolen base. In his last 10 games, Ritter is batting .294. Ritter is 4th in the New York-Penn League in walks, and on-base percentage (.382).
