Men's Hoops: KU Ranked #4, WSU at #6 in A.P. Poll

The Wichita State men's basketball team is ranked #6 in the nation in the first regular season poll released by the Associated Press.

The Shockers (1-0) moved up one spot from their preseason ranking of #7; WSU and Villanova both jumped up one spot over Kentucky.

Kentucky won its season opener, 73-69 over Vermont, but dropped two spots down to #7.

The Top 5 in the A.P. Poll are Duke, Michigan State, Arizona, Kansas, and Villanova. KU (1-0) received two of the 65 first-place votes.

Wichita State is ranked #1 in the nation in ESPN's BPI Ranking, ahead of Kansas and Villanova.

Wichita State plays its second game of the season at 8:00 p.m. Monday, hosting College of Charleston (1-0) at Koch Arena. Mike Kennedy and Dave Dahl begin their pre-game coverage at 7:00 p.m. on 103.7 KEYN.

After the game, Ted "The Sports Head" and Bob Lutz from KFH's "The Drive" will take listener phone calls on the Shocker Locker Room Show, broadcasting live from Twin Peaks East at 21st & Rock on 103.7 KEYN.

Today is Military Monday at Twin Peaks, featuring special free menu items for veterans and military service-members, and servers will be clad in camouflage gear.
