The 89th Major League Baseball All-Star Game is this (Tuesday) evening in Washington, D.C., featuring the American League vs. the National League.

Live coverage of the game begins at 6:00 p.m. on Sports Radio KFH 1240 AM and 97.5 FM.

The lone player representing the Kansas City Royals is catcher Salvador Perez, starting the summer classic for the fifth year in a row, and making his sixth all-star appearance overall. Perez was originally chosen as a reserve, but is now in the starting lineup replacing injured starter Wilson Ramos of the Tampa Bay Rays.

It has been 49 years since the All-Star Game was played in the nation's capital; that contest in 1969 featured 19 future Hall of Famers.

After 88 previous All-Star Games, the overall record between the two leagues is 43-43-2, with each league scoring 361 runs.
